Cillessen, Wass and Guedes check in
Just over two weeks since Valencia CF ceased their normal activity at the Ciudad Deportiva, the players remain at home in accordance with the Spanish government’s guidelines to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
No date has been set for the squad to return to training, but they are maintaining their fitness during the anxious wait.
In a message posted on social media, Jasper Cillessen said to followers: “Keep your heads up and always look on the positive side of life! I miss matches, fans, the club and the atmosphere, but better times will come!”

Daniel Wass gave an interview to TV 2 SPORT in Denmark to describe the daily experience for the VCF players in these difficult times.
“We only laugh a little together. It’s important for us to see each other on Skype and make our usual jokes, but we don’t have our everyday life. I miss that. You miss being out on the pitch and having fun,” he explained.

Gonçalo Guedes also spoke to media in his home country, chatting with Portuguese newspaper Record and sending out a message of responsibility:
“Don’t think only about yourself. You have to stay at home as much as possible and respect other people. Don’t take everything at the supermarket, as there are other people who need things. It is our responsibility to not transmit the virus. At Valencia CF they could see what was going to happen.”
